why u should love yourself first
There she was, lying motionless on the floor....
When a whiff of fresh air came knocking at her door.
The door stayed shut as she kept staring at the wall,
The breeze wasn't let in, as usual since fall.
But this time it was different, it wouldn't be the same;
Those were the winds of change, wouldn't go back as they came.
An alternative was visible, the tiny window at the top;
The zephyr of change rushed that way, there being now, nothing to stop.
The air stepped in and touched her skin,
A transformation in process, deep within......
It stroke her hair and caressed her face,
And gently all over, lines to trace.....
It had been long, since the last she smiled;
Later she couldn't, even if she tried.
She had erred, made a big mistake;
When she started smiling for others’ sake.
She donned the mantle and undertook the job,
Of keeping others happy, even if she had to sob.
Day and night, the wrinkles increased.....
But the flow of tears, never happened to cease.
She tried her might but the job was undone.....
With moisture in her eyes, how could she be their sun?
A wilted flower is overlooked as it dies....
Only a blossomed flower can make others rejoice.
She loved them all and loved a lot.....
But to love her own self, that’s what she forgot.
But now no more, she was about to change,
It was a game of TIME - its logic… is strange.
The air filled her lungs as she took a deep breath,
She rose up on her feet, infused with strength.
Hesitant she was, it wasn't an easy thing.....
To welcome the future, this change would bring.
She moved her feet, to walk further still....
She had to try and climb the hill.
Destiny awaited, it was her life’s calling....
For once she walked, without fear of falling.
She smelled the roses and smiled throughout....
She lived for herself without fear or doubt.
Her heart was at peace and her mind, still.
She felt whole, no cracks to fill.
She shed the weight, and finally let go,
To dance in rain and play with the snow.
She finally did, what she liked to do,
And loved herself and thus loved true.
And this was it, the secret she now knew
To make others smile, one should smile too.
Who doesn't love oneself, cannot love another
And then went away....the wind, that changed her forever....
Life can’t be all about pleasing other people and making them happy. Narcissism is the extremity but self-love is not a crime. It takes a whole lot of strength to think about others’ joy when your own happiness is at stake. But quite often, the ones who do care for others more than their own selves, forget to value themselves. This is to remind those special people that they themselves, before anybody else in the world deserve their own love. No person can guarantee another’s happiness at all times. SO it’s better not to feel guilty and neglect oneself in the process. Guilt for oneself and love for others cannot coexist in the heart simultaneously. And if made to, then someday the guilt will take its toll. SO, love others for sure, but make it a point to love your own selves first.
